Head Of School Message
Currently celebrating our 25th Anniversary, Pretty River Academy was founded with a vision to empower students, to inspire their curiosity, to help them discover their passions, find their voices, and develop the confidence and competence to lead a life of purpose.
As Head of School, I feel privileged to be leading the PRA Community and to see this vision in action on a daily basis. With small class size and a plethora of co-curricular opportunities in the Arts, Athletics and Academics, Pretty River Academy fosters children and adolescents to make a difference within and beyond our community.
As we celebrate our longevity, we have much to be proud of. Our history, our values, and our traditions guide our community as we focus on helping our students navigate an increasingly challenging and complex future that demands both innovation and bold thinking.
Our exemplary programs in Literacy, Numeracy and Social Science taught by Homeroom teachers and Middle School Advisors and specialist teachers in Science, Physical Education, Art, Music and French challenge and inspire our students to develop the knowledge, skills, competencies, attitudes and understanding so that they are well positioned to make a positive and profound impact in our world.
We work hard to ensure that our students are continually exposed to contemporary issues that are socially relevant and that matter to them, which assists them to capably pose questions, seek out new perspectives, and work toward finding solutions to real-world problems. You'll find them to be quick witted and divergent thinkers, who keenly embrace the challenge of sharing what they are learning. I encourage you to come and meet them.
The PRA community is small, but that is part of the magic. We get to know each other well and our students are seen and known for who they are and what they bring to the table to learn, discuss and debate. Our families are engaged partners in the life of our school, and we deeply appreciate their commitment to making our community stronger.
