Pretty River Academy offers Ontario Ministry of Education approved curriculum from Pre School through Grade 12 and is a candidate member of the Canadian Association of Independent Schools (http://www.cais.ca/).
Since 1998, Pretty River Academy has fulfilled its mission of developing students of character by promoting academic excellence, self-confidence, leadership, and independent thinking in an enriching, supportive environment. This environment ensures our students’ success, preparing them for leadership at university and beyond. Small class sizes and a low student/teacher ratio result in a superior academic program. Pretty River Academy’s challenging academic curriculum stresses writing, mathematics, science and technology, French, Spanish and computers. It is our aim to help each child fulfill his or her own unique potential.
The triad of student, parent and teacher relationship is one of the components that make Pretty River Academy students successful. Students, teachers and parents work hard to move forward through regular and open communication, creating a positive and supportive environment. Parents are welcomed to request additional interviews with teachers to address any questions or concerns regarding the student.
Pretty River Academy’s academic and extracurricular offerings are designed to foster growth in the “Four Pillars” of Academics, Arts, Athletics and Community. Students in all grades participate in several enrichment activities, including science fairs, math fairs, robotics, house competitions, and an annual drama production.
- In addition to JK- Grade 12, a three-year old pre-school program is available.
