Another award-winning year behind us – a new one set to begin!
On this August long weekend I’ve been thinking how we have wrapped up such a tremendously successful year at Pretty River Academy. Among the highlights is one of our graduating High School students, Zane Fantzen, won a 2018 Loran Scholarship, receiving $100,000 and guaranteed entry to the University of his choice. PRA Students Earn Recognition in Math and Business
Another graduating student, Elias Andersen, earned the highest score of any student in Collingwood in the Waterloo Math competition. This is the third year running that PRA students earned honors in this international math contest. Elias was also featured on CTV News for his burgeoning business career and invitation to pitch his version of “MoneyBall” to Major League Baseball.
Elementary Students take Science Seriously!
Team PRA placed second in the County-Wide Robotics competition. At the County Science Fair, our team won 26 Awards including Best in Fair for the third year. Once again, our students comprised half of the team chosen for the National Science Fair. We even brought home a silver and bronze medal from the nationals!
PRA Focus on Student Success
Students at PRA thrive in our small class sizes and benefit from music, art, drama, meditation, yoga, and morning fitness. Each student eats “Brain Food” with our nutritious lunches made fresh in our kitchen every day. The teachers report our new healthy-eating philosophy means students are more alert after lunch and after snack breaks. We continue to teach students to dream big and as young as Grade One, students now put their dreams on paper by creating vision boards which are shown to focus long term personal goals.
We’re all getting ready for another award winning year at Pretty River Academy. We hope you can join the PRA family this September.
I look forward to hearing from you.
