Bonjour tout le monde!
At Pretty River, students begin studying French in Pre-Kindergarten using simple words and songs to infuse the basic concept of another language. Following years are used to mold the concept into solid grammar, understanding, speaking and listening skills.
Creative projects, presentations, conversations, games and performances are used to develop these skills. A daily emphasis on active participation better enables students to read, write, listen, and speak confidently. PRA uses CEFR as a reference model.
On a broader note, languages are like keys, opening doors to new worlds, making connections and fostering open-mindedness about greater numbers of people and their cultures. Besides just plain being a lot of fun, successfully communicating in a new language enhances creativity and helps build self-confidence.
Our main goal is a love and appreciation for languages that will last a lifetime.
