The Pretty River Academy 50 acre setting is in the heart of the Georgian Triangle. Much of the school property is environmentally protected land, which provides an excellent opportunity for the students to gain an appreciation for their natural surroundings. The school’s proximity to the Bruce Trail, the Niagara Escarpment and a multitude of recreational facilities allows for enriched learning and “hands on” opportunities for instruction in all subject areas. Integration of school and community is a key component of the educational experience here. The faculty draws on the expertise of individuals and organizations from the surrounding communities to expand the knowledge base of the students. Opportunities are provided to reach beyond the community, to other countries, in order to achieve a greater awareness of the global nature of our society.

Students at Pretty River Academy thrive in a unique environment where they develop a passion for learning. Enlightened and caring teachers, working with small class sizes, offer a personalized style of education, which adapts teaching/learning strategies to suit the individual needs of each student. Pretty River Academy believes in developing the whole person; consequently, a solid academic core is balanced with instruction in Art, Music, Drama, Technology and Health & Physical Education. We are committed to building character and to developing a sense of accountability, responsibility, and loyalty to family, the school and society. We help students become secure, critical thinkers and intellectual risk takers who embrace education with focus, purpose and joy.
